Rudra ..... A Romantic Mystery

Chapter-

(Rudra The Beginning)

The life of a simple guy from typical middle-class family won't be much different as the way life treats me. Thus, I feel as if the life is like a jigsaw puzzle and full of mysteries. And, trust me; my life is specially blessed by mysteries.

After completion of my management studies with the specialization of marketing & sales, my everyday life curses me for being alive.

It is quarter past one and I have to reach to meet a client at his Nehru Place office the latest by three. I preferred the metro train instead of driving my car. I parked the car at M. G. Road Metro station and started towards my destination. Metro is fully equipped and has hardly space to even stand well.

The Metro train stopped at a Metro station, my coach is the last and thus the opposite train coach is Ladies coach. I can’t believe it; among various eyes, my eye stuck on an eye (bluish in color) of a beautiful girl with the dimple on her cheeks. Her eyes vanished since my train started towards its desirable stoppage in the opposite direction of her train.

After finishing the meeting, I returned back home after punching back my attendance. I am totally exhausted and having the headache. I went out and ordered a bottle of beer and took the roasted chicken from “Baba ka Dhaba”. I am having my chilled beer with roasted chicken in my 1BHK studio apartment.

I switched on the Television and started watching songs on the music channels.  I don’t know when I slept and was lost in the dreams; I can still see the same two bluish color eyes and the smile of that gorgeous girl of Metro train.

Jago Jago Jago subah ho gayi (Alarm Clock singing)”, my alarm clock started singing and thus it’s a new morning. I woke up and saw Auntyji (Maid) in kitchen cleaning utensils.

“Auntyji when you came? Why didn’t you make me awake?”- I asked my Maid whom I call Auntyji.

Beta I am having your spare key and even after ringing the bell twice, you didn’t open the door, so I used the key and started doing my work”- Auntyji replied.

“Auntyji please prepare breakfast only, not lunch, since I have a meeting at lunchtime and thus will eat outside. And listen don’t come in evening, just like yesterday, I will be late and won’t be able to eat your delicious dinner”- I said to Auntyji (although I know she hardly cooks well).

Next morning I was feeling lazy, so had tea and started getting ready for office. The same routine and running life was going to start after reaching office.

After an hour drive, I reached office. The receptionist gave a cute smile wishing me Good morning; I replied her back with a smile. I marked the attendance by pressing my thumb on the attendance machine and entered on the floor. I entered in my cabin and switched on my laptop.

“May I come in Sir?”- A voice came from outside, knocking the door of my cabin.

“Hello, how r you doing Sir? Can we start the introduction round with the trainees?”- Seema asked me.

“Yeah sure after 15 minutes in the third conference room and Seema keep smiling, you don’t look good in such serious face”- I replied her back.
“Thanks a lot, Rudra sir but I’m upset today and If possible will share my story one day”- she said and returned back to her seat.

Seema Rastogi is “HR Manager” of my company and got married two years back, she is having complications in her married life which she shared with me a week past.

Anyways just after finishing my coffee, I started the training with the new joined trainees.

At late evening, finally, I reached my studio apartment, alone but happy. I started thinking my struggles of life and childhood days.

Let me introduce myself, I am Rudra Pratap Singh, a simple boy who loves his family and his friends. I was born in a typical Indian middle-class family at city Ranchi. I have an elder sister and she is married now. Thus, the next turn is mine to get married. I am 27 years old (actually the word should be young instead of old).
The truth is, I have just 1 or 2 years of freedom left and then will be in the same situation like my friends “ek kunwara fir gaya maara”.

I don’t know why today I am missing my first crush Deepshikha who proposed me in 8th class. She was simple but cute and had blue eyes almost the same like that Metro girl.

Deepsy (Deepshikha) used to come with her younger brother Deepu in a private auto. I still have her Valentine’s Day card at my home, hidden with various other similar cards which I got in various stages of my life.

She gave me chocolates and Love You card after proposing me in GCR (Girls common room).

I was a big idiot and accepted her proposal just to get her kiss and win a challenge among my close friends. The truth is that I had the crush on her but never loved her. I was popular since I was good in studies and in extracurricular activities too.

Later on I became popular in otherwise too, after jumping in such trap, just to get her kisses.

I was a big dumb and was playing with her emotions although it was not my intention. I tried many times to make her know the truth but had never guts to tell her.

After a year I had to leave that school due to family problems and had to move out to a new city. After the report card day, I went school almost after two months, just to meet her and tell her the truth.

I went to collect my TC (transfer certificate) and waited for the lunch break. The bell rang, all kids started coming to the cafeteria, I met all my friends except her.

I asked Rohit (my school mate) about her, he said –“Yaar,  she never came back after exams, I heard from Bhawna that her father expired and thus Deepsy and her brother Deepu are not coming”. It was my last day in school and will be left behind with some precious memories.

I was sure that she went back to her hometown since she was residing here at her relative’s house. I was feeling bad for her, took leave from my school mates and started walking out from the school.

I was walking towards the main road to catch an auto and noticed that my eyes were wet. I missed her, wanted to say sorry, wanted to tell her the truth and wanted to have the last hug before leaving the school and all such precious memories.

Chapter

(Mysterious Date)

It's Sunday morning, last night I slept early and thus woke up a bit early. After, getting fresh I had my breakfast. I switched on the Television and started exploring music channels. I am feeling bored and thus switched on my best friend, i.e., my laptop.

I used Google to search some good dating websites and got one website with good ratings. I created my account with a fake name but had to give the original picture, thus provided all the details. After all formalities, there were so many girls among whom few were showing online and others were offline. I selected Delhi Girls with age range 18 to 26 and only online users. After sending so many messages, I didn’t get any response. I felt irritated and logged out, later on, started watching a movie.

My mobile blinked and a mail came as a response to my messages. I was excited and logged in to see who responded among 25 users. It was Shreya Kapoor from Gurgaon a 22 years single girl. Her picture was looking nice but was not clear as it was taken from a long distance. We had long chatted and exchanged our numbers.

After 2 days of conversation on phone, this evening I have a date with her. We will have Dine & wine and afterward, I will drop her home back. I am so excited and confused in selecting the dress to wear.

It's 7 pm and I am waiting for her outside the DLF Club in Gurgaon. My mobile started ringing and I picked the call.

“Hey, baby where are you? I am waiting for you outside the DLF Club” – I said, as it’s the call of Shreya.

She replied – “ Baby I am here only and everyone knows me, hurry up, tell me your car number and details of your car”.

“Hey it’s Honda City of Silver color, the number is 6677 and its opposite side of DLF Club”- I replied.

A beautiful girl in pink top and printed mini skirt knocked my car door. I asked to open the door and she came inside.

“Hey baby, finally we are here and met, Haha”- She said with a small giggle.

“Yes, and I am feeling blessed to meet you my cute angel Shreya”- I replied.

“Oye!! start the car and drive fast as many people here knows me. We can get into a problem so drive fast my dear handsome Rudra, Hahaha – She said and giggled again.

After a kilometer from her destination, she asked me to stop the car. I stopped and she came close to me and hugged me tightly. She kissed me on my cheeks and said –“listen we are going to Hotel Leela, we will check in separately and meet in the restaurant Zanota with 10 minutes of difference. This I am doing as you know my uncle Kapoor is education minister in Haryana Government”.

“No problem but where will I drop you?”- I asked her with a confused note.

“Don’t worry my hero I will tell you where to drop and listen, the dinner is from your side and drinks from my side. Is it fine?”- She asked with a cute smile.

“Yeah, no problem my dear lady”- I replied. After an hour we reached The Hotel Leela Ambience and was about to get my car for checking the car, she said –“ Hey if you don’t mind do I come in 30 minutes as I have made an excuse for shopping and dinner at home, I will have to purchase something from Ambience Mall”.

I said –“No problem it’s all right but don’t make it more than 30 minutes as I will be waiting for you there”.

“I will use my card there as I am the member here, and it will be beneficial for both of us. So, in advance give me 10 thousand rupees and whatever will be the bill, I will return you the balance money back. Please don’t take it otherwise as I don’t know after being drunk I will be able to ask for money or not”- She said in soft voice.

Her cleavage was almost visible and her cute smile with such soft voice, I was puzzled up and was not able to say no to her. I counted the money and it was 8500 rupees only. “Hey Shreya I have just 8500 rupees so keep 8000 and I am sure the bill won’t come more than this amount for dinner”- I replied and handed over the 8 red notes in her hand.

“Oh it’s ok dear, do wait for me and will catch you in just 30 to 35 minutes”- she said and gave a flying kiss to me. She left and I drove to the check in of Hotel Leela and handed over the key for valley parking.

I am sitting now and it’s almost 1 hour but she hasn’t come yet. I am calling her mobile but it’s showing not reachable. I asked for a soup and still waiting for her.

It's 10:40 pm I waited for her more than 2 hours but she didn’t come. Her mobile is still not reachable. “Have I been bluffed? But I have seen her Facebook account with her uncle. What was everything? Did she meet any family member of her and thus had to leave? Why her mobile is still switched off and not reachable?” – These all questions are revolving around my mind and soul.

My childhood was almost the same as she passed her childhood. She told everything correct about her, still, she bluffed me. It was surprising and I don’t know when I fall asleep at my studio apartment.

Almost 3 months have passed, still, I am puzzled and I wish to meet her and know the reason why she did this.

Chapter -

(Seema and The Peace )

It was lunchtime and after lunch, I was just roaming around the building garden with a colleague of mine for refreshment.

I saw Seema (My HR Manager) sitting alone and confused. I went to meet her and sat next to her seat.

“Hey, Seema- how r u babes ?”- I said Seema with a smile.

“Hello Rudra, how r u, Sir?”- She replied.

“Hey don’t call me sir. We are at lunch break and now we can talk like friends.” – I Said.

“Yaar Rudra I am confused related to my life and everything going in my life. You know better that my married life is on a roller coaster now and a new thing has made me more tensed and confused.”- She said.

“Hey if you trust me, you can share your problem with me. Maybe this will make you feel better and you may get a solution of it.” – I said.

“Rudra I am pregnant and thus confused and tensed”- She said.

“Hey, congrats. It’s time to celebrate; this will resolve problems from your married life, trust me, dear.”- I said.

“Yeah but what if the father of my kid denies that he is not father and has doubt on me? I am confused among choosing the two people in my life. I have to choose either the father or the kid.” She was crying and suddenly she stood up and started walking towards the lift lobby.

I was confused and speechless. This made me remember my childhood days and the pain of my mother.

When I was 14 years old, my father left me and my sister alone with my mother. He had a crush on his Boss and later on he got married with her leaving us alone.

My mother had to give home tuition, other than her government Job. Although it was a government job, the salary was too low and our living cost including the school fees and other stuff was too high.
I and my sister were living life like an orphan, although had mother and father alive but busy in their duties and lives.

My mother was a brave lady and never asked for money from my father. She used to cry after making us sleep. She fought every day till she got promoted to a head accountant in the co-operative bank.

She just thought to feel happy but after a month of her promotion, one news made her and my family broken into tears. The news was related to my father. He expired in a road accident with my step Mom. Although he was far from us, we never hated him. We always thought that one day he will get to know the real value of us and will return back.

My mother and my sister were almost half dead for at least a month. I also used to cry and miss him badly but was in my senses, since the kid Rudra had to act like the male member of the house.

It took 3 years for my mother to act normal and work regularly in her office. She was a brave lady and still is the brave lady I have ever seen till now.

I wish God may give power and strength to Seema and she may become a brave lady like my mother. My mother has been my inspiration throughout my life due to her brave nature and all the sacrifice she has done in her life.

I was walking towards the lift lobby since the lunch break was over, I saw people shouting towards the back of the building. I ran towards the back of the building to see the reason of the noise.

It seemed somebody fell down from somewhere and people were running to help him or her.

When I went close and came forward in the crowd, I saw Seema and the blood everywhere. The ambulance was called but it was too late.
My sweet HR Seema didn’t act to be brave and left us alone. Still, I think she fought bravely till her last breath.  Since she loved both of them so much, she neither chose her hubby nor her child. She chose the peace than any of the two choices she had.

Within 10 minutes how a live person took rest in peace. My eyes were wet and I walked towards the basement since crying alone in the car was better for me. I don't know why I was missing my father and wanted to ask few questions which I never asked and won't ever be able to ask him.

Chapter - 4

(Rain and the Child )

The bell rung thrice and I woke up. It was midnight quarter past one and the bell was continuously ringing. I opened the door and saw my neighbor Mihir standing.

“Sorry Bhai, if I disturbed you. Actually, my room partner and his girlfriend are having the party and I am not able to sleep. In fact, don’t want to disturb them. Can I sleep on your Sofa in the Hall?”- Mihir said.

“It’s ok bro, come and sleep there. The remote is on the Sofa itself, switch on the AC and sleep well” – I replied.

I woke up at 8 am and saw Mihir sleeping on the floor. He was sleeping like a kid. I kicked him and made him awake.

I got ready and reached office. It was last day in my office since I resigned after a week of the death of Seema. I still can see her smiling face and can’t believe that I was the last person who met her before she died. I and Seema were not so close friends but she had trust on me.  She used to sit with me sometimes and share her problems and secrets.

Tomorrow I have to join a new organization and new chapter of my life will continue. My boss came and gave me the bonus cheques and asked to collect the relieving letter from the new HR.

I was stuck on the red signal and it was raining. The traffic in Gurgaon is the worst on a rainy day. Me and my Dhanno (Car) were stuck in such traffic and feeling irritated. I saw 2 kids begging for money or food. I called 1 among those. He came running close to my car window.

“Saheb gives me some money please”- he said.

“Tell me your name and you can call me Uncle, not Saheb”- I replied.

“Ok uncle my name is Chintu and I stay with my family at the back of that red signal. Can you please give me some money?”- he said with a cute smile and shivering.

"Chintu I will not give you money but can offer you a packet of biscuit. Take it and get back to your home. It’s raining hard and you don’t have full clothes on your body" - I replied.

“Uncle my father is ill and it’s raining so we don’t have food to eat. I am hungry and my mother told me to ask someone for food. I have fever still shivering and begging for food and money. Please give me one more packet since I have a small sister and she is hungry too.”- Chintu replied.

He was just a 6-year small kid but was talking like a mature guy. I asked him to come and sit in my car. He denied and ran back holding the 2 packets of biscuits in his both hands, he was running with excitement. Those 2 biscuit packets were like the medal for him.

I reached home after 2 hours of traffic jam and was feeling exhausted. The memories of my office and colleagues were revolving in my mind. Suddenly the bell rang, I opened the gate and was the surprise to see my 4 colleagues and 2 subordinate standing on my gate.

They came to give me a surprise farewell party. I was shocked and somewhat was happy to see them. I ordered food and cold drinks only since the hard drink was already with them. We had a party and so much of fun remembering all the memories and old colleagues who left including the back biting about some other colleagues.

It was 12 midnight and we were almost drunk. The girls left early since they had to reach to their P.G. before 12 am but we party dogs were still in the mood to dance and enjoy. After, midnight two almost everyone left except the two colleagues, who were not even able to walk till toilet. Everybody came except Seema whom I missed tonight. She was so caring and nice for me, never let my salary deduct although was strict for other people on the floor.

Next day I reached office to complete the paperwork and other formalities. It was just a few hours’ work and was given off for the day. After the office, I drove towards that red signal where I met Chintu yesterday.

There were few tent type houses made at the back of the red signal. I parked my car and started asking for Chintu and his family. After few minutes I saw Chintu and his family. He was happy to see me except his parents.

His father came forward and asked – “Saheb anything wrong has he done? My Chintu is not bad he shouldn’t have stolen anything from your car. Even he is not a beggar. His hunger forced him to beg for food last night. If he did anything wrong, please forgive him and me too. We are poor people but not thief or beggar.” He was crying while speaking with his folded hands.

I hold his shoulder and said –“Bhaia there is nothing like that, he is really a sweet kid and his sweetness made me come here and meet you, people. By the way, how is your health and how is the fever of Chintu?”

“I am not well from last 3 weeks Saheb and thus my family is not able to get proper food. I met a doctor and he asked to buy medicine costing 500 rupees. I don’t have money to buy food for my family then how could I buy medicines?”- He replied.

I asked him to come with me. He hesitated but after requesting twice he came with me. I drove and took them to a private hospital. Chintu got medicine for his normal cold and fever but his father was suffering from Malaria and thus doctor asked to admit him immediately. I went to the cash counter and gave my credit card to swap for all the fees and admitting his father.

After 2 days, Chintu’s father got discharged and I brought him back to his destination. He was crying and grabbed my feet and said – “Saheb I am speechless and unable to say a word related to whatever you did for my family. You came from God for me.”

I grabbed his shoulder and said –“Don’t worry Bhaia, from tomorrow you are doing a job of a security guard in my society. I have already talked with the president of the society. He will give you a month advance salary on my guarantee. So work hard and don’t ever let your family beg for food or money".

I went close to Chintu, he was smiling and winked at me. I laughed and gave him 2 packets of chocolates. He grabbed those 2 chocolates and started dancing the same way as he danced last night. He got his medal and I got my peace and smile back in my life.

I drove back towards my flat singing an old Bollywood song of the mid-80s. I was feeling good as I saw the real happiness on the face of Chintu and his family.

I don't know why I started missing Shreya, her smile and the way we used to talk for hours and hours. I am not sure whether her real name was Shreya or not. The way she left me, I have doubt on her each identity. I called on her number after so many days, it was still showing switch off.

She left me alone in the moonlight and thus I always remember her by the name of Chandani (Moon Light).

Chapter- 5

(My lovely lady Tina)

“Today is the last day we are meeting”- Tina said, lying on my bed and putting her hairs on my chest.

“Hey! Stop kidding; I have heard this from last 14 months. In fact from the very first day when we met”- I replied yawning and searching my undergarments.

“Rudra your name should have been Rude—Ra”- She replied with angriness and went towards the bathroom to take the shower.

I followed her and we had the bath together. We started kissing each other, I held her breast and softly pressed them. It was soft and juicy and always used to bounce hard whenever I used to hit her pussy from the back. She started feeling the heat and we made the beautiful lovemaking under the shower.

After few hours when she was about to leave, I asked her- “Hey tell me Tina, are you serious?”

“Rudra yeah we are dating last time since your Boss is taking me back to Mumbai. He is missing me as he got transferred 6 months past and he has searched a new job for me at his place. I can’t make any more excuses”- She said.

“Yaar what you saw in that 10-year elder boring person and get married?”- I asked.

“He is rich and well settled and thus I accepted his marriage proposal. Nowadays even happiness needs money dear”- she replied.

“Yeah, somewhat you are true. I still remember that dinner party when we met the first time and by mistake, you entered in the male toilet when I was inside since you were drunk. You vomited in front of me and hold me tightly. I took you to the Sofa and you fell asleep.”- I replied with a small giggle.

“Rascal Rudra, you knew I am the wife of your boss still you dated with me, although I am seven years elder to you". – She pinched my ears and laughed like a kid.

“Yaar I am still shocked, how I dared to ask you for a dinner date. And the love scene started in the bed of my Boss that night. The love has not ended till now. Hahaha !!”- I started laughing loudly.

“Rudra I am serious and want to ask something”- She replied in a serious note.

“What baby? Ask whatever you want to ask”- I replied casually.

“Rudra, what is the end of this relation? I am in love with you and feel as if we have become just fuck buddies”- She replied with a soft note and made me speechless.

I am dating her from last 14 months. In such long period of date and unconditional lust, she proposed me many times.

I tried to make excuses each time to escape from her queries and proposals. I love her warmth and the structure of her body. She has a tremendous smell and way of playing out which makes me erotic whenever I meet her.

“Rudra I know I am elder than you but want to get married to you. I really love you and want to get settled with you. I am good looking as well as I earn well. I will give you all kind of comfort and happiness baby. Please accept my proposal and I will file divorce from Mr. Wadhwa”- She replied and hugged me tightly.

“Tina I know you love me and in fact I also love you. But, getting married with you and your divorce from Mr. Wadhwa, isn’t it too much?”- I replied and tried to convince her.

“Rudra, how easily you refused my proposal. Do you know how much courage I took to ask you and propose you for everything? Is it easy for a married woman to do all this? I don’t want to be a just fucking buddy for you”- She screamed with anger.

“Yaar give me some time to think about it. Till then let’s continue as the love bird’s baby please….” I replied and tried to convince her.

“Rudra don’t worry I understood everything and won’t ask you all these shitty things anymore. I know you just love my body and the sex with me, nothing else. By the way, I have booked a ticket for tonight and I knew your answer in advance. Still, thought to ask, as I was confused by the answers from my heart and my mind. Thank you for insulting my unconditional love sweetheart. I will pray that you really fell in love with someone and when she will refuse your love, you will get to know the real pain.”- She replied with wet eyes and left the room. The main door was closed and she left me forever.

I was confused and speechless. I was not able to know how to react. My studio apartment was looking on me and mocking since I lost a good fuck buddy. I mean my good friend. I was totally blank and not even ran to stop her.

Three weeks passed and I started missing her. I have no contacts of her. One day I heard from a colleague that Mr. Wadhwa resigned at Mumbai office and went to get settled in Australia with Tina and the kid from his first wife.

Today I was feeling little disturbed and confused that whom I was missing. Was I missing Tina? Was I missing her unconditional love and her caring nature? The real answer was, I was missing the lust and her warmth.

I drove my car to meet my little friend Chintu. After his father started working in my society, they left that tent and started living in a small house. Chintu has started going school from last 6 months and I bought the books and other stationary required for him.

I rang the bell and the door was opened by my small friend. I saw Gudia (Chintu’s sister) smiling and dancing. She was happy since I went there. She is just 3 years old and knows that I would have brought chocolates or pizza for her.

I took Chintu and his sister on a long drive and bought some toys, chocolates, and pizza for them. Later on, I dropped them back to their house. It was 9.30 pm and a flight passed from there, high in the sky. It was the same flight from which Tina went to her new life leaving me here alone.

While I was returning back to my studio apartment, I saw a familiar face buying a packet of cigarette just opposite side of the road.

I saw the same girl, and the familiar face was of Chandani aka Shreya. I drove fast and waited eagerly to get the red signal into green so that I may take a U-turn and meet her. I reached the same shop from which I saw her buying a cigarette, there were few guys but she was nowhere around.

I asked the shopkeeper –“Bhaia just 3 to 4 minutes past, there was a beautiful slim girl who bought a packet of cigarette from you. Can you tell me where has she gone?”

“Saheb there are so many call centers around and within 3 to 4 minutes, more than 5 girls came for it. How will I know about whom you are talking?”- He replied me with a smile.

I ran around for next 10 to 15 minutes and was not able to find her. Was it really her or someone else whom I felt to be her? I drove forward confused and reached my place within 20 minutes.

I finished my dinner and had a beer to digest the half cooked food from Auntyji. My bed was missing someone while my eyes were still searching someone else.

                                 Chapter -

(New Neighbor)

As usual, I woke up in the morning and started getting ready for office. It was a foggy morning and the weather was so romantic. After getting the bath I put my towel and wet clothes on the balcony outside my studio apartment. I was amazed to see a new girl opposite of my flat. She was cute and was sleeping like a kid in the balcony.

The flat opposite to my apartment was empty from a long time and it seems last night it was rented out. Although I was getting late for office, I finished my breakfast in the balcony, watching my new neighbor.

I reached office and was late by 30 minutes, punched the attendance and entered in my cabin. My intercom rang and it was the voice of my big boss, he asked me to meet at his cabin in next 10 minutes.

I finished my coffee and rushed towards his cabin.
A new project was discussed with the new targets given to me and my team. I hate my job sometimes but love the messages showing salary credited in my account.
After completing my presentation I came out of my cabin and noticed that it was lunch time, the whole floor was empty. I ran towards the cafeteria since I was feeling hungry but was late. I planned to go out and eat something.

I reached Kumar’s Dhaba and ordered Chhole Bhature with a cold drink. There were many employees of various companies and were talking with laughter and were eating as if they have come in any marriage function.

Anyways, after few minutes of waiting, I got my Chhole Bhature and a cold drink. I was about to start but heard a voice, “Excuse me, can I take this chair if it’s spare?”
I looked upward and said casually-“yeah sure you can”.

After a second I was shocked to conclude that it was the same girl, my new neighbor. I thought to reply her something or just make her know that I am your neighbor, but it was too late. She took the chair and sat in her group of colleagues.

I finished my lunch and went back to my office since the lunchtime was almost over.
In evening I reached home little late and didn’t see her on the balcony. I waited almost a week but didn’t see her on the balcony.

I went to buy some vegetables and was shocked to see the same girl paying money for her vegetables. I rushed to the shop and ordered few vegetables. Afterward went to the cash counter and stood next to her in order to pay the money.  She paid her money and was walking towards her Scooty. I left the vegetables and rushed towards her.

“Excuse Me!!” - I said and she turned back.

She replied- “Yes, do I know you?”

“Hmm not actually, but I am your neighbor. In fact, we met once in Kumar’s Dhaba, you asked for the chair to a guy and it was me” – I gave a smile and replied her. I was bit nervous and didn’t know how she will response me back.

“Oh Ok! Maybe I don’t remember. Anyways it was nice meeting you”. She gave a cute smile and replied. The Scooty started and she flew away.

I reached my flat and saw her talking on the balcony with her room-mate. They were laughing and talking, maybe about me or maybe someone else. I noticed that they saw me and started talking again ignoring me.

It was Sunday morning, my bell rung. I opened the door and was yawning with half eyes opened. I thought it was Auntyji and started walking towards my bed leaving the door opened.

“Excuse Me!!”-  A soft voice came and my eyes got wide open. I turned back and went towards the door.

It was the same girl (my neighbor); I was shocked to see her. I opened the door completely and asked her to come inside.

She said –“I am sorry it seems I disturbed your sleep. I just came to give you this key, I am going on a tour for 2 days and my room-mate has not returned yet. I am getting late so I thought to give you the key.”

“Oh sure, but how she will know that the key is with me? And how will I give her?” – I replied.

“I have texted her to collect the key from you since I don’t know anyone here else than you. By the way please give a missed call on my number”- she said.

“Oh sure”- my eyes were wide open and I was bit confused. I gave her missed call.

“Hmm thanks, but by what name do I save it? We don’t know the name of each other. By the way, my name is Sapna Pradhan”- She laughed and I joined her laugh with a confused smile.

“Hello Sapna, my name is Rudra Pratap Singh and you save it as Rudra”. I replied with a smile.

“Nice long name like a king – Rudra Pratap Singh. I saved it Rudra, by the way, thanks for helping me. Ok take care enjoy your sleep buddy”- She smiled and ran back in hurry.

I was shocked and pinched myself to confirm whether it was truth or a dream. “Ouch, it’s truth. Wow, yaar it’s really a great day for me. I got her number and soon my celestial bed will get a new partner”. I was laughing and murmuring.

From that Super Sunday till today it has been 15 days we are talking on the phone with a condition that we will be like strangers in public places.

My mobile vibrated with a message-- “Feeling hungry for food since empty is my tummy, Will you cook tonight something yummy?”

I replied- “I am good cook honey and will cook without any hesitate, Will you be tonight my roommate?”.

The reply came – “My roommate is not here so I can join you its fine, but promise me we will have to dine and wine”.

I replied –“I will be ready with everything, feeling excited and greedy, will wait for you at sharp 10:30 my dear lady”.

The bell rang and it was sharp 10:30 pm. I opened the door with a big smile (feeling greedy and excited from inside). She came inside and was in her sexy shorts. We hugged each other and sat on Sofa. I brought the food and wine and was shocked to see that she was eating like a hungry kid.

We had dinner and lots of talk with 4 pegs of wine. We both were fully drunk and I don’t know how we started kissing each other. My celestial bed was with a new cute girl. We had fun full night and we slept nude holding each other tightly.

The new chapter of my life started and we started meeting almost every Saturday night or Sunday night whenever her roommate was not with her.

I was keeping her promise and it was secret that we were dating to each other. Actually, it was not dated it was sex date only because she was serious for her married boss. She didn’t want anyone to know the fact and it hardly matters to me. I was enjoying her moves and everything she used to experiment whenever we used to meet in the bed. Her soft curves and her body fragrance have made me erotic each time we met.

Chapter - 7  (We Met Again)

“Uncle I am feeling scared, please drive little slowly”- Chintu said sitting on the front seat of the car.

“Chintu why are you scared? We had long driven many times before too, so don’t be panic and enjoy the ride” – I replied and gave him a packet of chocolate.

He was eating the chocolate and was watching my speedometer. I understood that the car was really at high speed and I was driving little rough tonight. I started driving safely and decreased the speed of the car.

After the dinner, I dropped Chintu at his house and he was laughing and waved his hand with a flying kiss. Every month on my salary day I give a treat to Chintu and his sister. Tonight she slept early so it was outing for me and Chintu.I really feel good when I see the smile of his as well as his family member’s face.

I was feeling lonely again in my life since Sapna shifted to Noida and we haven’t met from last 3 months. In fact, we hardly talk now and it seems she was a friend of mine just to feed her thirst. I was feeling lonely and thus felt to go to Cyber Hub and have a beer in the moonlight.

I parked my car and was about to enter inside, I saw Amratesh and his gang smoking and laughing at the corner seats of the green patch.

I rushed inside and patted his shoulder; he was amazed to see me alone and asked to join them. I met his friend Maddy, Sampat, Roxy and Mandita

After a while, we planned to go to the Restro-bar on the 2nd floor of Cyber Hub. After 2 hours of fun, music, and beer I asked to leave but they were still in the mood to continue. Finally, I gave my portion of the money and signed off from their company. I was about to leave and was rushing towards the main gate but hit a couple who were kissing and dancing. I said sorry and rushed towards the gate.

I was about to exit then returned back since the girl sitting next to these couples was no one else; it was my mystery girl Chandani. I was feeling scared to go and say hello to her although I wasn’t the culprit. Still, I managed to push my legs towards her. I was amazed to see her but this time she was drinking some liquor with an old man of mid 40’s.

She wasn’t alone and it would be a great scene created if she doesn’t recognize me. My money eater and the most liar girl I have ever met was just 10 feet away from me. I had been searching her from a long time just to ask the queries I had and many things were inside my mind like a bubble. I re-joined the group of Amratesh but asked them to change the table.

I was with them but my eyes were still on her. She was looking so hot in her skinny gown with deep cleavage from front and back. I waited and waited to get her alone at least for a minute. She didn’t notice me as she was busy with the rich fellow who was offering her liquor and food and was cracking any idiotic joke which was making her laugh every now and then. She hugged her and then I saw her moving towards the toilet alone. This was the time for me to move and with lots of guts, I started walking towards her. I thought she would have gone inside for Loo but she didn’t, she was smoking on the terrace and was tickling her phone as if she was waiting for someone.

I was about to cross her without nodding her since my guts evaporated and I was about to move towards the toilet, a soft voice made me stop.

“Rudra stop!!”- the voice came from the back, I turned it was the same hot and beautiful girl whom I remember always by the name of Chandani.

“ Hello”- I said with a shaky voice.

“Rudra please stop this idiotic thing”- She said.

“What? Sorry, I didn’t get u my dear lady”- I replied.

“Stop staring me like an owl idiot. I am watching you from last 20 minutes. Although my eyes didn’t move towards you I noticed you and your idiotic gang.”- She said.

“ BTW Miss--- XYZ, since I don’t know your real name, my group is not idiotic. They don’t know you and in fact, I was about to leave but I noticed you from far distance and thus came back and re-joined them.”- I replied with a little anger and irritated.

“Listen I can’t talk much now. Meet me tomorrow at this address after 12 pm. I wish you will be alone and won’t be with your gang.”- She said and put a paper in my hand.

“Why to meet? I just want to talk for 2minutes. Stay here and answer my few questions. Afterward, swear to my God, I will never ever recognize you or will talk with you”- I replied and this time my voice was soft and eyes little wet.

“My real name is Chandani Kaur and this is my real address. I will be waiting for you Rudra and will answer all your queries.”- She said and left dropping her cigarette towards the ashtray.

I was shocked and my tears got frozen after knowing her real name. I stood there amazed for a while and after few minutes left the place. I was driving and thinking whether it was another lie from her or was the truth.

Can’t sleep tonight.
Saturday, it's gettin' late.
You gotta get home, get on your way.
That kinda sucks, wish you could stay.
But, yeah, I get it, you're just not ready.
You say, "baby steps" and I keep waiting, yup,
I'm not complaining.
I know you'll be worth it, I'm tossing and turning.
I lay down,
You're the first thing that pops in my mind,
I'm stuck on you.
You're all around,
I can still see you with the lights out, lights out.
'Cause I can't sleep tonight.
When I can't sleep, it's like I'm dreaming.
'Cause I can't sleep tonight.
No, I can't sleep and you're the reason
.

The music was playing on one of the FM radio in my car while driving towards my flat. I was feeling like it has been sung for me tonight. As the truth is I can’t sleep tonight.

Chapter - 8  (Chandani Kaur )

It's quarter past 5 now and still, I am awake. After many years I am able to see the sunrise with beautiful rays and cold breeze touching my bare body.

I tried to sleep many times but failed each time. It was the same situation when my 10th result was about to be announced next day, my eyes were sleepless and every hour was passing like a decade. I was confused, nervous and eager to reach at the address given by Chandani.

Beta I have cooked everything and I am disturbing your sleep since I wanted to make you know that I won’t be coming for next 3 months”- Aunty Jee said standing outside the door of my bedroom.

I wore my t-shirt and came out rubbing my eyes, it was quarter past eight and it seems I slept for almost 2 hours.

“Aunty Jee, what happened? I hope everything is fine”- I asked her.

Beta I have to go to my village which is in West Bengal due to some issues regarding my farm land and small property. I am a poor woman and have nothing else than those small properties. So, I will return after resolving all the issues”- She said.

“Oh, it’s fine Aunty jee. You go and do ring me if any help required from my end. One of my friends is a lawyer in Calcutta town and I can ask him to help you if you need any legal help”- I replied her.

“No Beta in our village all the people are like relatives and friends. We do trust on each other blindly. I don’t want to punish anyone and go for legal complexities. I wish everything gets resolved without any complexity and difficulty”- She replied with wet eyes.

“OK, Aunty Jee still you keep his number. If any help required, do talk with him taking my reference”- I replied with a smile.

“Thank you, Beta! By the way, Rachna, my daughter in law will be coming from tomorrow on my behalf for working. One more request is that please keep your money and valuable things locked as I don’t have trust on her”- She said putting her head down.

“Oh, it’s ok Aunty Jee, happy journey and keeps calling me once a while. Do take care of your health and please keep this money with you”- I replied with a smile and gave her one-month advance salary.

The door opened and Aunty Jee left waving her hand as if she was blessing me like my mother. Afterward, I took a small sneeze and woke up since the alarm started tinkling on my phone.

I started getting ready and wore my best dress although I was not sure whether I was going to meet her and the address she (Chandani) gave me last night was correct or not.

It was the sharp quarter before 12 and I was outside the gate of “Beverly Park Society” on MG Road. I filled the register with my name, number, address, car number and her flat number asked by the security guard. After the confirmation on phone, the security guard opened the gate and I drove towards her tower and parked my car in the visitor’s parking.

I was blank and confused since I was still not sure whether I was going
to meet the same girl or it was another fake name and fake address with all fake identity of her, as she used to do in past.

I rang the doorbell of her flat and after a while, I heard the footsteps of someone coming towards the door to open it. My breathing and heartbeat went faster and finally, the door opened.

Namaste Saheb!! Please sit in that guest room, madam will join you shortly”- A girl of teenage said and guided me towards the guest room.

I was sitting nervous and was looking everywhere impatiently. After 10 minutes a dog came and started smelling my clothes and feet and started staring me as if I came there to rob something.  Suddenly a girl came in shorts and sat opposite to my seat and said with a smile –“Welcome Rudra”.

She was the same girl uhh I mean my girl Chandani. I replied in a nervous soft voice with a fake smile –“Thank you, dear”.

“Hmmm, so you reached on time. Great man, I am impressed from your punctuality”- she stood up and started laughing. After few seconds of her laughter, she waved her hand signaling to follow her.

I started following her and her dog was following me. I was feeling as if two dogs were following her in a queue. I can smell the fragrance of her deodorant and can feel the droplets of her wet hairs.

We reached in a room and the door closed. I was standing and was completely blank.

“Rudra come and sit here. Don’t be a panic sweetie, no one is here else than my maid and my pet Tommy (Dog)”- She said waving her hand.

I went and sat on the chair near to her and asked –“Can you answer my few questions which I wanted to ask from a long time?”

She said –“Yeah sure but no personal questions please”.

I said- “yeah its fine I will try to ask the normal questions only. I have just 3 questions and I wish to get an honest answer from you”.

She said –“Sure I will give you honest answer only if it doesn’t go personal and mind it only 3 questions as you said”.

My questions were many but I went straight away with my first question and asked –“It’s fine if you don’t want to disclose your real identity I won’t ask for it. I just want to ask that why you vanished that night leaving me there waiting for you?”

She took few seconds smiled and replied –“Dear are you really immature or acting to be immature? It’s clear that I was bluffing you and never was my plan to get banged. Just I needed money and for that, I bluffed you easily.”

I knew the answer but still wanted to know it like a stupid. I took a couple of minutes to digest the truth which she answered without any hesitation. I was about to ask the next question and the door knocked.

“Yes come in Supriya”- She said.

The door opened and it was her maid who came with biscuits and tea. After putting on the table she left and the door was closed again.

I took a sip of the tea and asked the next question –“The identity and everything which you discussed when we used to talk was all fake?”

She smiled and replied –“Aaaahhhh take a breath Rudra and finish your tea first. Anyways let me answer your question, actually do you know Photoshop? I used the identity of a friend of mine who died in a car accident. I just did a smart work with my face and rest was a real identity but was my friend not mine.”

I looked on her face and started wondering that what a girl she is? She even misused the identity of her dead friend.  I finished my tea and waited for her tea to complete.

Before I would have asked her next question she stood up and said –“Hey let’s go to the balcony, I want to smoke and its beautiful weather now we can sit and talk there. It seems it will drizzle now. I love the rain and such beautiful weather.”

We went to the balcony and sat on the chair. She lit her cigarette and went inside to switch on the music. The music started and it was a Hindi song which was all time favorite of mine too.

She came singing softly with the music –
Ajeeb dastan hai ye, Kahan suru kahan khatam,
Ye manzilein hain kaun si, na tum samajh sake na hum

She has a good voice and she sang it nicely but in little retro style. She stood on the corner of the balcony and started saying –“Life is not the same as it appears Rudra. It’s very tough and sometimes I hate my life. I wish I could jump from here and finish my life but can’t hahaha”.

She laughed in a strange manner and her words were really terrifying me. “Listen let’s go inside if you finished your smoke”- I said.

“Hey don’t worry I will not commit suicide since I have promised someone that I won’t try again. I am alive although I tried thrice haha”- She said with the same sarcastic laugh.

I noticed a thick cut mark on her hand and can easily conclude that she would have tried to end her life. I was waiting to ask my next and important question.

“Hey did u forget your third question? Ask me buddy without any hesitation.” –she said.

“Yeah sure, but I am expecting an honest answer from you dear. So before asking the final question I want to commit that I had the crush on you and felt real feelings even after you left me sitting alone that night”- I said.

“Hahahaha!!  Stop kidding dear. Don’t flirt with me and ask your question without hesitation”. She laughed and said.

Chandani I am not flirting trust me. It will surprise you that although I didn’t know your real name is Chandani, I used to call you Chandani the mysterious girl. Since you left me alone in the moonlight and vanished.”- I said with excitement.

“Haha!! I am amazed and impressed. Maybe I took birth in the night and thus my parents would have kept this name.”- She said with a strange smile.

“Your parents would have? Oh sorry, I won’t ask the personal question from you. Let me ask the final question. Tell me truly keeping your hand in your heart that did u ever felt any feelings for me? Did you get crush for me? Did you ever laughed the real laugh with emotions or everything was just fake?” – I asked on the serious note.

Rudra let me be clear and honest with you dear. I needed money for a friend of mine, who is a drug addict and his life was in danger. I can’t ask money from my family members for all these things. I am beautiful and attractive and thus have bluffed many people easily for small works. This time it was big work and money was in large figures so I planned this way and bluffed 4 people including you. I never felt bad for other 3 people but yes always thought to return your money whenever we may meet. I might be sounding crazy for you but that’s the truth”.

She took a pause and continued – “One more thing dear, I can’t even think about you for a second since you are not my type of guy. You don’t have such class and you don’t belong to a high society. You never ever have attended the high society clubs and parties. These all things are my almost everyday habit. So, don’t be a fool and never ever think that I can be your girlfriend or can have feelings for you. I took your money and now returning it back. Thanks for everything and I am sorry if I have hurt you.”

I was blank and speechless and was not even able to utter a word. She gave me the money, I took it and without turning back I started walking towards the lift. I opened the door and a voice came from the back.

“Hey, Rudra! Don’t ever try to come here dear since we are leaving this place next week. I am sorry for everything and yes one thing I want to tell you that you are really sweet and never ever get trapped this way. Stay blessed dear”- She said.

The lift door opened and I get into it without even turning back and didn’t say her goodbye. I was blank and was walking like a robot. My eyes were wide open and legs were moving towards my car. It started raining and even my eyes were raining too. I was never ever humiliated this way and nobody ever had crushed my emotions the way Chandani did tonight.

I started driving with wide open eyes and in fact was senseless. My eyes were wet but mind was dumb. The car was moving towards its destination with a half dead driver.

Chapter - 9  (Rudra Re-born)

That day was like a horrible day for me, actually a horrifying memorable day and moment which I am still unable to forget.

The day I met her and the facts she told me, it changed my life totally. I felt I was not meant for Delhi NCR butterflies and their high society. I was a simple guy and was living life in a fake world.

Those high profile females and people who used to laugh and search fake happiness in terms of the one-night stand or physical satisfaction were actually not meant for me.

Although I had lived such erotic fake happiness life and enjoyed it. I know I ruined the emotions of few people who had feelings for me but were just a physical pleasure for me nothing else. I cried many times and felt sorry for everyone starting from Deepsy, Seema, and few other girls. I played with their feeling and this time my emotions were ruined badly.

My ego and selfish attitude had changed me in totality. The real Rudra was lost in such fast and high-fi world and it created a person named Rude-ra. (As Seema told me and she was true now I realized).

That’s true that the words of Chandani were very harsh and painful for me, but she made me learn many lessons. The meeting with her and her words although were harsh, it changed my whole life. It showed me the mirror and the real Rudra was reborn.

I started living a sweet, simple and silent life. I never dated anyone afterward, in fact never tried to meet or go for the bang. My friends started telling me that my blood has gone cold and my manhood was dead. One of them suggested me to consult a doctor. I laughed each time and started excusing them for the parties and meeting.

My loneliness and my career were my real friends. I started liking the poems and even the sad songs became my most favorite songs. Among various poems, I wrote a poem in a social forum and was appreciated. Each word was mine with real feelings and my real life experience.

A mirror in my house,
Which shows only faces not the soul
Shows the beauty with the foul.

O Mirror you are my best friend
Watches me all the time without complaint
Watches my madness till the light shine
Take rest when light gets pause
I just hope you know what you're to me
But you can’t speak and always hide
I know its coz u can't see the beauty inside

A mirror in my house is not just a glass
It knows my present and my past.
It remains with me without any gain
Have always patience and never complain.

After 2 years

I was shifted as the project head to dream city Mumbai few months past. I worked hard and thus my hard work paid me with promotion and glory in just two years.

I was busy in my own new world, the world which had no personal life and even no space for anyone to enter.

I got a call from the father of Chintu (My little hero) that he has left his job and he wants to come and work in the same city where I was working. I tried to explain and convince him, so that he may not come to Mumbai. But, Chintu and his sister talked on the phone and started crying, which melted my heart and asked them to come.

I searched a job in advance for Chintu’s father and a small rented flat. They came after a week and settled down in few weeks. I was so busy in my new life that I hardly used to go and meet them. I know I was changed and became bit selfish too.

It was the birthday of Chintu and I managed to take leave for this day. I could be so busy and selfish but can’t tolerate the tears of Chintu and his cute little sister.

I reached his home with few toys, cake, fruits, sweets, and clothes for the two kids. I was surprised to know that Chintu was not at home, he went to the NGO School where he used to go for his studies.

It was so boring to wait for 3 hours at his house, so I decided to reach his school and surprise him. I bought 2 big packets of toffee so that he may distribute in his class.
The sky was cloudy with the cold breeze; I drove my car and reached Chintu’s school within few minutes.

The school was small but was full of children. I asked the security guard to make me meet any senior teacher or principal of the school. He took me to meet the vice principal Madam, I waited in her small cabin or office.

The bell rang and students started making noise, I stood up and started looking outside the window but was not able to see Chintu among 100 students.

“Hello!! I am the vice principal of this school. How can I help you?”- a thin voice came from the back.

I turned back and replied –“Yes Ma'am, I am Rudra, uncle of Chintu, the birthday boy of class 5th of your school. I came here to meet him and make him distribute these toffees among the students.”

The Vice-principal was young age and her eyes were appearing familiar as if I have seen them somewhere.

“Yeah, sure!” - she replied and she was staring me in such a way that she was searching someone in my face.

My eyes were also searching someone; I don’t know who she was and whom I was searching in her eyes.

“It seems you are not from here, as your tone and vocal is totally different”- she said (as if she wanted to know my introduction).

“Yes you are correct, I am not Marathi Manus, I am basically from Delhi and my native place is in Jharkhand. I am not the real uncle of Chintu but not less than his real uncle”- I replied with a smile.

“Oh ok! By the way, you changed a lot Rudra and I am happy to see you after so many years”- She said in a surprised note.

I was surprised and concluded that these were the same blue eyes of my first crush, my school girl, Deepti.

“Hey I can recognize these blue eyes, You are Deepti, wow I am shocked and happy to meet you.”- I replied in surprise and with a smile.
We both were staring each other and were silent for few minutes. She shook her head down and I can see tears in her eyes.

“Hello, Uncle! Wow, you came here to meet me at my school. I am happy to see you here. Meet Deepti Ma'am, she is very pretty and kind. She helps me a lot in my studies.”- Chintu said entering the cabin.

“Oh yes, she is really pretty and kind Chintu and I am happy to meet your Vice-principal Ma’am. By the way Happy Birthday beta and take these toffees for your friends”- I replied Chintu hugging him and gave him those toffees.

After taking permission from Deepti (the vice-principal), he ran away with toffees and started distributing them with a huge excitement.

“So, Deepti can I take Chintu as I have planned so many things for him and managed to take leave for a day just cause of him.” – I asked her softly.

Her eyes were still wet and without looking into my eyes she nodded and permitted me to take the birthday boy with me and make his day special.

I wish I could hug her and ask so many questions but had no guts to do such.We were no more childhood batch mates and she was also a well-educated lady with her high position.

“Deepti my company does few social responsibility charities, so keep this card and you can ring me for any kind of such help for these beautiful children”- I said and handed over the card with lots of hesitation.

She took the card but didn’t speak anything. Chintu came back and I left her cabin in a confused manner. I didn’t know what to speak or how to respond to her. I didn’t know whether she cried due to me and my childhood stupidity? Those tears were mysterious but were revealing so much of her pain. I wish I could hear her soon, would be able to meet her and ask her to forgive me for my childhood mistakes.

The day was special for Chintu and unknowingly it became a special day for me too. I will be eagerly waiting for her call and don’t know when will I meet her again.

Chapter - 10  ( Am I in Love?)

Even after a week, my mobile waited for her call, but she didn’t call me. It was very embarrassing for me; still, I went one day to see Deepsy at her school.

I sent my card through the security guard and I was soon called in her cabin. I went inside and noticed few people sitting with her.

She asked me to sit on the chair outside her cabin. I sat and started waiting for her. It seems they were some official people in her cabin and the discussion was going on related to any upcoming event.

It was quarter past 12 and I was feeling bored while waiting for her. I peeped inside; she was in blue sapphire colored saree with sleeveless blouse which was making her look a complete beautiful Indian woman.

“Hey, Rudra wake up! Sorry, you had to wait longer due to that idiotic meeting.”- She said in loud voice in order to make me awake.

I rubbed my eyes and noticed that I slept waiting for her and thus a beautiful woman with a perfect curve in saree was trying to make me awake.

I stood up and said –“ Sorry Deepsy I came without informing you and like a stupid I slept here waiting for you”.

“Oh not at all, it’s perfectly fine. By the way, today is second Saturday so its half day today and now it’s off. So, I will be leaving now. Tell me if anything important which made you come here?” – She said in soft voice.

“Oh nothing important, I was just crossing by so thought to see you. So, can I drop you if you don’t mind?” – I replied looking into her blue eyes.

“No Rudra its fine, I can go by myself. So, do I leave now?”- She said and was appearing as if she was in hurry to leave.

“Hey, let me confess. I was not crossing by from here, actually came to meet you. It was tough for me to come here although you didn’t call me and we are still like strangers. Sorry if I disturbed you but really I wanted to meet you or talk with you. Please if you are not in hurry can we sit and talk for few minutes?”- I asked with little hesitation.

“Just 200 meters away from this place is a Coffeehouse, If you like coffee you can join me there after 20 minutes.” –She said and left immediately.

The Coffee House was a small coffee shop and was peaceful too. I sat on a table and started waiting for my beautiful lady, actually beautiful childhood friend.

She came and it was appearing as if the wind was blowing slowly with slow music playing from the background. I know it sounds so much Bollywood mania type, but trust me it was appearing the way I have described. She was looking so cute as an angel and the angel was coming close to the table I was sitting.

“So I am here, tell me what you wanted to talk with me?”- She said.

“Are you in hurry? Can’t we start it slowly? Let’s have something first.”- I replied.

“Yeah ok! Today I will have anything of your choice dear.” – She said looking on her mobile.

I ordered 2 cold coffees since ice cream was her first love and second was me in the childhood days.

She was smiling when I ordered cold coffee for her and said –“ Rudra still you remember that ice cream had been my first love, Hahahaha !!”

“Yes I do remember and I know you didn’t order since you were testing whether I remember your choice or not”- I replied with a smile.

“Haha! Not actually, but yeah"- She smiled but in a sarcastic way.

"If you don't mind can we discuss something about our past? We are familiar with each other, but only till our childhood days. There is a huge gap of our past years and our life which we passed in these years." - I asked with a smile and tried to be soft in voice.

"Hey don't be in hurry, let me get comfortable with you. Don't mind, but truth is that we are still strangers to each other. So, relax and let us understand each other first. I will tell you my past but only that day when I will feel comfortable to share with you."- She said in serious note holding my hand.

It was a soft touch and her hands were like soft flowers, I said -" Yeah, you are absolutely correct. But the truth is that I will wait for such day when you will tell me everything and will take interest in knowing my past".

After that day we met almost once a month and was still curious about knowing her past, although 8 months passed, she didn't utter a single word about her past.
I took guts to write a mail making her know my dark sides and everything about me.

I don't know why I was getting the soft corner for her. I was getting a special touch even in just holding her hands for few seconds or couple of minutes. The truth is such pleasure and special feeling I never got in having sex with a girl for full nights.

Finally, I wrote a mail and it took 3 nights for me to correct the best draft for her to read. That draft had all my feelings, emotions, mistakes, dark sides as well as every truth I experienced in these years. I prayed twice before sending this email to her and at last I sent it on her personal mail id.

Next day I was so excited as well as nervous to see the reply to the email I sent. I used to refresh my email after every 5 to 10 minutes. It was midnight and a mail popped up, the email was from Deepsy. I sent her a long email which she would have taken at least 30 minutes to read. It took almost 3 nights to draft and a full day to get courage and send it to her.

On the reply of such long email, I got her reply and it was - "Ok! no problem cheers."

I was shocked on her one liner reply. I wanted to know her real reaction so I called her. She disconnected my call. Two weeks passed away and we had no conversation on phone or not even got her SMS. In between I tried at least 40 to 50 times, my call was disconnected each time after few rings.

The days and nights were passing rapidly and each moment I used to curse my fate. I checked my phone and email more than 500 times but there was no revert from her. I felt I was in love with her and her disconnection of calls and no reply was making me like heartbroken Devdas.

Chapter - 11  (Deepsy the strong girl)

I tried to go and meet her at the school which was the best destination to see her and asks her the reason of ignorance and no replies. But, the truth is I am a big coward in such situations. I know why she was ignoring me but was not sure.

I can’t explain the pain and such dishearten feelings which would be common for every lover but was new for me. I can feel how Tina would be feeling when I used to ignore her and her love affections. She was just a material for me to quench my thirst and fulfill my physical need.

After 1 and half Month:

I was in the middle of a meeting and 3 emails blinked on my handphone. After completion of the meeting, I started scrolling the emails. There were two emails of my Chartered Accountant asking the required documents related to some work. The third email was the unexpected mail which I lost hope to get. Yes, it was the email of my Deepsy with the Subject – My last reply.

I wanted to read it in the loneliness so rushed towards my home after the office. I was in hurry to reach home as if someone was waiting for me. I reached home and immediately opened the email sent by her.

Dear Rudra,

It took almost a month to type this email. I tried many times but was not able to type and send it to you. After reading this email I don’t know how you will feel and react, but I will feel light hearted.

You tried to ask many a time about my past and would be waiting eagerly to know the facts about me and my past dark days of life. I never had the courage to tell you what all happened with me, but your email gave me the courage to reveal all the truth.

I read your email and cried that night, it was not due to your lust green life and the struggles, the actual reason is that it made me recall everything which I tried to forget many a time.

Ruddy, it was fun for you but the truth is that I always loved you. My friends told me that you were playing with my feelings and were just doing all such things for winning a bet and kissing me. Still, the attraction towards you made me trust you, not my friends.

I lost my father and was not able to join the school for 3 months. My uncle was a good man and he helped my mother by providing her a good job in a factory. Finally, I came to school but you were not there.

The day you left me, my destiny saddened and just after six and half months of the death of my father, I lost my brother Deepu in a road accident. This incident made me and my mother broke into endless tears. My mother was a heart patient; she didn’t come up with this incident and got two severe heart attacks. She was hospitalized many a time and one day she left me alone in this world.

Within one and half years; my whole life was changed in 360 degrees. I lost my father, brother, and mother but I don’t know why I survived. I had no one else than my Uncle and Aunt, but the truth is no one was with me else than my loneliness. I tried to scream and cry for long, but I don’t know why my tears evaporated and I was passing my life like a robot.

I passed my twelfth and soon I was asked to get married to a stranger. I had no choice and thus I had to get married. I was eighteen years kid but was too old for my Aunt and was sent in a new world of strangers.

My father would never have allowed any one to even dream about my marriage unless I would have completed my study. It was his dream to see me as a doctor or lecturer but my whole world and my dreams earthed with the death of my father and mother.

It was a new world, new city and new relations in my life. My husband was very happy since I was a beautiful girl and this would be his dream to marry a beautiful girl like me. He was tall dark and not so good looking still he was my whole world.

It was so painful life since my husband used to satisfy his thirst after getting drunk and the whole day I used to work like a maid of the house. There was no mercy for such small girl who was just like a slave for my in laws as well as for my husband.

My husband had the only physical attraction towards me; he never used to talk much and not even used to ask my feelings. I felt as if it was a fatal attraction between us and we were still strangers. His name was Saahil and he was a very busy person.

After 2 months of my marriage, I adopted myself as per the culture and nature of family and family members. One night Saahil didn’t come home, everyone was tensed and I was nervous too. Almost 40 hours passed and he didn’t return back. Finally, on my request, all family members went to police station to file the missing report. The missing report was filed but I was surprised that why no one was willing to go to police station and report of his missing.

My mother in law was praying and crying every now and then. She asked me to do fast and pray for Saahil without taking food and even water. I was also thrilled and dumb by the mind; I did as I was asked. I was thirsty since it was summer days but was asked not to take a single drop of water. The third day also I was asked to continue in the same way. I fainted and slipped; fell down in my room and was able to even stand. I remained in my room fainted for many hours, nobody even cared to see me and even notice where and how I was.

After 10 days we were asked to visit the police station, I was thrilled and was murmuring “Hanuman Chalisa” continuously till I reached the police station. My fate showed me again the real color. Saahil was murdered near a pub when he was returning back to home. I can’t explain what went through my mind, heart, and soul. I was a widow girl in such age when even people call the girl as a growing teenager kid. Later on, my mother in law showed her real trauma and madness, she blamed that I ate her son as I was bad luck for her and her family. I was beaten twice and next day they pulled me out of the house and asked never ever dare to return back.

They did not allow letting me get in and the door was locked. I was crying and requesting them but none of them opened the door. I kept on crying and knocking the door for at least 3 hours, finally a neighbor came and she took me in her house. She asked to report it to police and take action against my in laws. I refused to do so and just ask 100 rupees for the train ticket from her. She was nice lady; she gave me a glass of water and the money. She hugged me and was crying for me. She dropped me till railway station and wished me best of luck.

You will be surprised to know that the doors at my uncle’s house were also closed for me and they refused to keep a widow with them. I became an unlucky or so called bad luck woman due to whom a good happy family changed into tears. I was a small 18 years girl who had not seen the real world and had no idea where to go and what to do next.

I started walking towards railway platform and was totally blank. I was keep on walking on railway track and suddenly saw a train coming on the same track. I started laughing and stood on same track. My laughter was with tears and was waiting eagerly for train to end myself and rest in peace. The train was coming rapidly and was just 5 seconds away from me. I fainted down and don’t know what happened.

Next day my eyes opened and I was in a house and was sleeping on a bed. I was surprised that I was alive. I stood up and started walking outside the room to know where I was and who brought me here. I saw two old couple sitting in a lawn and having tea. I ran towards them, started crying and asked – “Who are you and why you people saved me?”

“Beta – I am the same train driver and luckily the break worked. I am happy to see you alive”- the old man replied.

I was crying and told them the entire story, even asked them to drop me to any station. I was the unlucky girl and didn’t wish to change any more happy family into tears. The old woman hugged me tightly and started crying. She asked me to call her mother and remain with them as their daughter.

I soon got to know their story and was really sad for them. They had a daughter which took birth after 7 years of their marriage and recently they lost her since she was burnt in the fire of dowry. I don’t know what God had plan for me. I got new parents who were so caring and good by heart. In fact the two poor fate people met and became medicine for their wound. I started living with them. I started calling them “Papa and Amma”. It was a new phase of my life, almost everything I lost and it won’t be wrong to say that Deepshikha reborn with a new fate.

Soon Papa was transferred to Mumbai and there I got a job in NGO. I am working in the same NGO and living with them. This is my story and now Papa got retired and is living his happy retirement life with Amma and me.

Another thing I wanted to share with you is that when I saw you first time, my all past life flashed back and made me feel those pains, torture and the tears. I am sorry to say Rudra, I am no more the same girl and I am a widow of some one. I can see the love and feelings in your eyes but after reading my all such entire story I am sure you won’t try to meet me again. Thus, I was not telling you anything about my past life since I wanted to share some good time with you.

Trust me I will not feel bad and will ask you to forget me as a bad dream but do remember me as I was in your life in childhood days, an idiot cute girl who was mad at you. Thanks for your good time dear and wishing you all the best for your future ahead.

The email ended and the tears from my eyes were flowing continuously. I was blank and my blood was almost frozen.

I was shivering and sat blank in the balcony looking towards the sky (as if I was searching God to ask various questions).

The whole night passed away and I was watching continuously towards the sky with my eyes filled with tears. The morning bell rung thrice and I started walking towards the door and was still shivering with wide open eyes. I was not able to walk properly still opened the door and fell down.

  1. I like your story. You have built it up well. I'm curious to know when Chandni enters the story. And I'm hoping it all works out. The protagonist of the story is a good person and I appreciate the character you have built around him. He's a person every young Indian can relate to.

    Keep up the good work
